Dr. Cheryl Ewing has been selected by our 2025 PISCES students to receive PISCES Teaching Award
The Department of Surgery would like to take a moment to honor Breast Surgeon Dr. Cheryl Ewing, who has been selected by our 2025 PISCES students to receive a University of California, San Francisco PISCES Teaching Award—a meaningful recognition of her excellence in clinical teaching and mentorship.
Students noted that Dr. Ewing provides exceptional instruction on the genetics, pathophysiology, and clinical management of breast cancer, while also offering hands-on feedback in essential surgical skills such as knot-tying and suturing. Beyond technical teaching, she has served as a deeply valued mentor, supporting learners in clarifying their career interests and maximizing their rotation experience.
We are grateful for Dr. Ewing’s commitment to education and to developing the next generation of physicians.
