    Biography

    Laura is an Integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery resident at UCSF. She received her B.S. in Biology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She went on to complete her medical degree at Tufts University as well as a Ph.D. in neuroscience at Tufts University through the Medical Scientist Training Program. Her thesis was focused on looking at long-distance regeneration in the spinal cord after pre-ganglionic brachial plexus injury. She is spending her research year working under the mentorship of Dr. Amanda Sammann in The Better Lab, a UCSF and ZSFG affiliated human-centered design lab aimed at solving healthcare challenges. Her focus is on developing a brachial plexus injury clinic for trauma patients in our community. She is interested in upper extremity reconstruction and peripheral nerve injury.
