Sharon Blaschka, N.P. Honored with International Transplant Nurses Society Award

Sharon Blaschka, a Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Research Coordinator in post-liver and kidney transplantation in the UCSF Department of Surgery, is the 2010 recipient of the International Transplant Nurses Society (ITNS) Award. The award came by virtue of a nominating essay submitted by Jeanette Forbes McLaughlin, a patient in the UCSF liver transplant program. In her winning essay, Jeanette described Sharon as the "ultimate professional", a "stellar Ambassador for the ITNS", and "invaluable" as her clinical care nurse and and as a coordinator in the "A-Wish" liver transplant study at UCSF.
