Biography

Dr. Chris Hsiung is a molecular geneticist and synthetic biologist who enjoys pondering and tinkering with the flow of genetic information in biological systems for fundamental understanding and therapeutic applications. Current research themes in the Hsiung Lab include: 1) understanding and engineering cell type-specific transcription, cell differentiation and epigenetic memory, 2) developing efficient approaches to exploring numerous combinatorial genetic perturbations, 3) applying functional genomics approaches to understand and engineer emergent properties of tissues, including tissue responses to injury and immune recognition of cancer."
