    Biography

    Amal L. Khoury received a B.S. in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Riverside and her MD from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. She completed her general surgery residency at Howard University Hospital. During residency, she was awarded an NIH T32 Research Fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where she studied Immune Response to Burn and Traumatic Injury and also obtained her M.P.H. at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. Dr. Khoury also conducted health disparities research with a focus on breast cancer outcomes among African-American women living in the Washington, D.C. area.
