UCSF Medical Center at Parnassus is located at 505 Parnassus Ave., near Golden Gate Park. The hospital and clinics cover almost six blocks, an expanse it shares with UCSF's health sciences schools. Today, the 15-story, 600-bed main hospital is composed of two adjoining buildings as well as our UCSF Children's Hospital.

The 180-bed UCSF Children's Hospital is a "hospital within a hospital," cradled within the larger facility on the sixth, seventh and 15th floors. It includes the Center for Mothers and Newborns, a pediatric intensive care unit, a neonatal intensive care nursery linked to a Birth Center on the 15th floor, and a pediatric surgical suite.

UCSF is are known for our care of patients - both children and adults -- requiring organ transplants such as liver, kidney, pancreas, heart and heart-lung transplants. Because of this outstanding care, UCSF is designated a "Center of Excellence" by many major insurance providers nationwide and serves as a referral center for the most complex cases.

The  Emergency Department is located on the east side of the hospital on Parnassus Avenue.

UCSF Medical Center at Mount Zion is an innovative hub of specialized clinics and surgery services as well as a center for comprehensive cancer care. It is located in the heart of San Francisco with its main facility at 1600 Divisadero St., between Sutter and Post streets, about two-and-a-half miles from UCSF Medical Center at Parnassus.

Mt. Zion offers a growing network of outpatient services includes comprehensive diagnostic care, dermatology and adult and pediatric primary care as well as a Surgery Center. In addition, Mount Zion maintains eight operating rooms and a 50-bed inpatient unit.
